The Saltillo Semi-desert

Two springs of the Coahuila semi-desert: the San Joaquín pool, with a hotel, and Arteaga, which you visit from there.

Road line from OpenStreetMap data.

There is no volcanic belt here. The water drops down faults to the Earth's own heat and comes out in the desert. San Joaquín is the night: a hotel and water from 40 to 42 °C. Arteaga is the next day's visit, cooler, and the last stretch is no longer all pavement.

  • Arteaga has no hotel of its own. The route sleeps at San Joaquín.
